The process of becoming a teacher usually starts with a daydream. You're sat in the office, it's truly dull, and you think about other jobs you've always been interested in. Teaching!! Ahhh, that sounds like fun, the banter, the inspiration, the challenges, the emotion. You know it would make you feel... alive.

The trouble is, it is such a leap into the unknown. The return to university, the lack of salary for at least a year. The risk of not getting a job. The risk of getting the wrong job. The interview bluff and projected enthusiasm, when, you're not even sure you want to work there. The bright, attentive kids in the "interview lesson" contrasted with the ones they actually want you to teach when you start!

These problems can be overcome, the 'GTP/School Direct route' is set up to help you overcome them.

Once registered, you will be included in the national GTP/School Direct candidates database, which schools will access when a position becomes vacant and they are looking to set on a GTP/School Direct trainee.

We also arrange to place teachers immediately with schools wishing to recruit for the Graduate Teacher Program (GTP) and School Direct training programme, that have a teaching vacancy. We have methods of fully paid formal introduction periods, where you get to try a school, a school gets to try you. If you hit it off, the school will sponsor your application to work toward gaining Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through the GTP/School Direct route.
